On 24th March 2005 MJ Cabinet Makers had the privilege of receiving a visit from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales to the new purpose built premises at Braithwaite, Keswick.
His Royal Highness met with Matthew Jardine and family for an hour, during which time they discussed the art of cabinet making, the history of design, employment, training and environmental issues. Matthew also introduced Prince Charles to a number of representatives from agencies that had helped in the recent expansion of MJ Cabinet Makers, such as West Cumbria Development Agency, DEFRA and Cumbria Woodlands.
Matthew then spent some time showing the Prince some examples of his work (as can be seen in the photographs), and presented an Arum Lily Cabinet to him, which is to be auctioned to raise money for the Prince's Trust in the North West region of the country.
The visit was a great honour.
